We awoke to a bluebird day. We got our electronics charged up then hit the trail. The hitch into Truckee was slightly challenging with Old Highway 80 closed. We obtained a ride nevertheless, hit a sweet resupply, then knocked out a few more miles later in the day to get to Peter Grubb Hut.
