"Pretty awesome day today. Started hiking in the snow just north of Mount Jefferson. Fresh footsteps in the snow made it easy to stay on route. After a few miles I was clear from the snow and into a burned are, which was actually much more difficult to navigate with downed trees and trail washouts. Got to Olallie Lake Resort about 10 in the morning. As I had heard, most things were priced high, but I found a tin of 60 butter cookies that was only 5 bucks so I bought it and ate half of them on the front porch along with a can of soda. Packed the rest in a bag and consumed them throughout the rest of the day, and they were amazing fuel. Today was the most energized I've felt in a while.
I didn't see any hikers until about 5:30 in the evening. Filled up my water and washed my feet and socks in a stream then headed up a short climb where I luckily found an awesome campsite. No snow and no bugs, which is awesome compared to last night where I had both. Tomorrow I'm going to hike to just before Timberline Lodge, where I'll have access to a supposedly killer breakfast buffet the next morning." 7/11/22 7:57 PM

In terms of fuel these cookies were the G.O.A.T.
