I started hiking the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) on March 31, 2022. With a couple of setbacks and intermissions, I finished hiking the trail on March 30, 2023. I used the FarOut app during my hike and wrote short blog posts at the end of each day on the trail. At the beginning of the trail, my posts were usually a sentence or two, basically letting my family know that I was alive. As I continued, I found great enjoyment in writing my nightly account of the day. Each post has a location tied to itself as well.
Starting on March 31, 2024, I will be posting edited versions (I made plenty of typos on my phone screen) of each of my daily logs with a GPX track of the terrain I covered that day and many or all of the photos taken along the way. Each post will be released at the date and time the original log was released, only two years later.
I am excited to review the logs, photos, and maps from my trip, and hope that you may find them informational, insightful, or at the very least entertaining.
